Our History

Our journey began in 1991 with the establishment of the Koramangala branch under the guidance of Late A. A. Poovaiah, former Director for Education, Karnataka, and the institution’s first Chairman, whose vision laid a strong academic and value-based foundation. Building on this legacy, the HSR ICSE branch was established in 2002 by Chairman P. M. Subbaiah and Managing Trustee Mrs. Pushpa Subbaiah, further strengthening the institution’s commitment to quality education and holistic development. From humble beginnings, Lawrence High School has grown into a vibrant learning community of over 2,500 students, supported by more than 103 qualified and dedicated teachers. Its history reflects visionary leadership, steady growth, and an unwavering commitment to nurturing confident, responsible, and future-ready learners

Mr. P. M. Subbaiah,

Chairman

Mr. P. M. Subbaiah, Founder and Chairman, has been the driving force behind the institution, bringing with him over 35 years of experience in the field of education. His vision and commitment to excellence have been instrumental in shaping the school into a future-ready learning environment grounded in strong values and progressive thinking. He has consistently championed the importance of evolving with time while ensuring that character, integrity, and critical thinking remain at the heart of education. He closely supports the school’s growth through his emphasis on innovation, modern pedagogy, and holistic development. Known for his open-door approach, he fosters a culture of trust, collaboration, and shared purpose within the school community. His steady leadership continues to inspire students, staff, and parents alike, strengthening the school’s foundation and its vision for the future.

Mrs. Pushpa Subbaiah,

Managing Trustee

Mrs. Pushpa Subbaiah has been at the heart of the institution since its inception in 1991. She has dedicated over three decades to the field of education. Through her steady leadership and thoughtful guidance, she has helped shape a progressive and child-centric learning environment where students are encouraged to grow with confidence, curiosity, and care. She strongly believes in nurturing not only academic excellence but also emotional resilience and social awareness, and continually encourages teachers to adopt creative, experiential, and student-focused approaches in the classroom. Deeply committed to the well-being of both staff and students, she fosters a supportive atmosphere where every individual feels valued, heard, and empowered.

Mrs. Supriya Johnson,

Principal

Mrs. Supriya Johnson brings 26 years of rich experience in the field of education, along with strong academic insight and progressive leadership. Her journey across Kolkata and Chennai has given her wide exposure to diverse curricula, including ICSE and ISC, CBSE, the Tamil Nadu and Karnataka State Boards, the National Institute of Open Schooling, and the International Baccalaureate. This breadth of experience allows her to bring both national and international best practices into the school’s academic environment. Over the years, she has taught subjects such as Computer Science and English, combining technology, communication, and critical thinking in meaningful ways. She has also served in several leadership roles, contributing to curriculum planning, academic coordination, and overall institutional development. A strong advocate of continuous staff training and structured orientation, she works to build an integrated and collaborative teaching-learning culture across the school.

Student Council

We are supported by our dedicated Student Counsellor, Ms. Anaha, who provides continuous emotional and academic guidance to students. She also served as a counselling panelist for the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (ICSE) 2026 Board Examinations, supporting students across India.
