Academics

At Lawrence High School, our academic philosophy is centred on nurturing curiosity, resilience, and a strong pursuit of excellence. Guided by the curriculum prescribed by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (ICSE), we offer a balanced, comprehensive, and application-oriented approach to learning that prepares students for both academic success and meaningful growth

The ICSE curriculum provides a well-rounded and rigorous education that builds strong conceptual understanding, analytical thinking, and effective communication skills. With its focus on project-based learning and in-depth subject knowledge, it helps students grow into confident, capable learners ready for higher education and future opportunities.

Our Academic Approach

Individual Care and Attention

Recognising that every learner is unique, we place strong emphasis on individual care and attention. Teachers closely monitor each student’s progress and provide consistent guidance to support both academic growth and emotional well-being.

Language Development and Communication Skills

We place special emphasis on language development to build strong articulation, comprehension, and confidence in expression. Students are encouraged to communicate clearly, thoughtfully, and effectively across contexts.

100% Participation Policy

We believe every child should have the opportunity to explore, participate, and excel. By encouraging involvement in both academic and co-curricular activities, we foster inclusivity, confidence, and holistic development.

Project-Based and Experiential Learning

Learning is strengthened through projects, presentations, research, and collaborative activities. This approach helps students develop critical thinking, creativity, communication, and problem-solving skills in meaningful and practical ways.

Identifying Learning Styles

Our teachers actively recognise individual learning styles and adapt their teaching methods accordingly. This ensures that visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learners are equally engaged, supported, and encouraged to succeed.

Teacher’s Orientation

Teachers’ Orientation 2025 marked the start of the academic year with sessions focused on professional growth and well-being. The programme included team building led by the Director, leadership development by Coacharya Foundation, and yoga training to promote balance and mindfulness. This initiative reflected the school’s philosophy of nurturing both body and mind, Happy Teachers, Happy Kids!.

a) Daycare Facility

01/04

The Day Care Facility offers a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for children beyond school hours. Supervised by experienced teachers and supported by trained assistants, it ensures attentive and compassionate care at all times.

The programme thoughtfully balances academics, skill development, and play through guided learning sessions, creative activities, storytelling, games, and supervised indoor and outdoor play. Mealtime is carefully supervised with strong emphasis on hygiene, healthy habits, and cleanliness, creating a warm and reassuring space where children feel secure, comfortable, and well cared for.

b) Kindergarten: A Thoughtfully Designed Curriculum Aligned with NEP 2020

At Lawrence High School, we are committed to providing a strong, joyful, and holistic foundation for our young learners. In alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasizes experiential, play-based, and activity-driven learning in the early years, we have integrated the Collins Kindergarten Series into our curriculum.

Our scholastic programme is designed to develop essential skills in literacy, numeracy, general awareness, communication, and reading. Children are given ample opportunities to build language and storytelling abilities, helping them express themselves with confidence and clarity. Through hands-on activities, guided discovery, and meaningful play, learning remains engaging as well as effective.

We place equal importance on co-scholastic development. Students actively participate in activities such as dance, music, art and craft, along with indoor and outdoor sports. These experiences strengthen motor skills, teamwork, creativity, and self-expression, ensuring well-rounded growth.

By combining the vision of NEP 2020 with our child-centric, inquiry-based approach, we create a nurturing environment that fosters curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love for learning from the very beginning.

02/04

Primary

Grades 1 to 5 are a child’s formative years, and we focus on application-based learning to build strong comprehension. Our curriculum is thoughtfully designed around topics that matter most at this stage. Through innovative, hands-on teaching methods, students learn by applying concepts in real ways. There are no exams from Grades 1 to 5, but regular worksheets ensure steady practice and retention.

03/04

Secondary

From Grades 5 to 7, students build a clear and thorough understanding of every subject through deeper, structured learning. This stage strengthens strong academic foundations and prepares them for higher classes. Students are trained to listen, think critically, and write answers independently. Alongside academics, secondary classes introduce programs and workshops that support career awareness and help students visualise their future.

04/04

High School

The high school syllabus focuses on preparing students for the Class 10 exams through regular assignments, projects, and extra classes when needed. Many of our high school teachers are CISCE examiners, bringing strong insight into exam expectations and evaluation. Lessons are designed to be clear, engaging, and concept-driven, so students enjoy learning while building confidence. This supportive approach helps students perform strongly and aim high in their results.
